Quick and consistent perimeter installation
CMG Frames was tasked with the design, manufacture and installation of modular façade wall systems and roof truss across the Brighton Public Housing Renewal Project. Homes Victoria aimed to modernise the site and increase both social housing and market rental supply.
We helped achieve this with prefabricated lightweight steel frame façade systems, pre-fitted with cladding off-site so they could be delivered ready for installation boosting speed, reducing on-site labour and ensuring consistent quality across the façade system.
At the heart of this transformation lies CMG Frames’ meticulously designed and engineered lightgauge steel roof trusses and steel façade wall frames. Crafted from Truecore Steel these architectural components seamlessly integrate with the project’s vision as envisioned by the talented architects.
Custom-engineered deflection head
To accommodate post-tensioned concrete slabs, CMG Frames incorporated a custom engineered deflection head detail within the framing system. This solution allowed for structural slab movement while maintaining façade integrity and performance.
Collaborating closely with ICON and Casello, CMG Frames’ in-house detailers ensured a seamless fusion of design elements, addressing factors like window dimensions and interior design aesthetic.
Across the buildings, CMG Frames also designed and supplied lightweight steel roof trusses incorporating integrated maintenance access pathways. These internal access systems allow safe ongoing maintenance while maintaining structural efficiency across the roof structures
The project demonstrates how engineered lightweight steel framing and modular prefabrication can deliver faster installation, improved building performance and scalable solutions for large residential developments.
