Efficient, flexible childcare spaces enabled by a large-span truss design
Guardian Thornhill
Showcasing an intelligent approach to structural design and construction methodology, this development is creating open, flexible spaces that support modern early learning environments.
efficient, expansive environments
Large-span and column-free
CMG Frames engineered and executed a large-span truss system, forming the backbone of the structure and enabling expansive, column-free internal areas. The truss design was carefully considered to balance structural performance with buildability, allowing for efficient fabrication, transport, and installation on site.
Smart solutions to complex needs
A key focus of the project was simplifying complex structural requirements through clever detailing and sequencing. The lightweight steel solution reduced installation time, improved site coordination, and minimised disruption within a constrained construction program.
Through close collaboration with the builder and project team, we achieved a streamlined structural outcome that supports both architectural intent and practical delivery, demonstrating how well-resolved truss systems can unlock efficient, high-performing educational spaces.
